Stamp Test

A quick test of an idea for the stamps. Its looks ok at this kind of large scale on screen.

However at print size the text is almost impossible to read and the image is hard to distinguish, it just looks like blobs of colour. I need to use really bold type, perhaps with a colour block behind it and the image needs to be scaled a lot bigger. I might try using the definitive size stamp with a rectangular tag attached, its a legitimate stamp size used by Royal Mail and would allow me to fit larger text and imagery onto the stamp. I also need to test whether photos or illustrations would be better.

Using a plainer font like Helvetica Bold makes it easier to read but loses the romantic edge. It was still quite difficult to read with the image in the background, the colour block under the text increases the legibility at print size.

Tried using coloured type with the image at a lower opacity. It is a lot more legible at print size but not sure it looks as good.

Some experiments using the chocolate stamp. I don't think the masked text works that well as the stamp will be so small it will be impossible to tell what the image is.
