Brief 4: Pick Me Up

Brief:
What are badly designed publications? When asked this question I immediately thought of trashy magazines with stories such as ‘A stripper delivered my baby’. What would happen if the content of the publication was the same but it was designed in a way that is clear to read, with a strong, consistent aesthetic and good typography? I intend to redesign an issue of a trashy magazine such as Pick Me Up into something that is well designed and generally more glamourous as a way of subverting this genre of magazine.

Target Audience:
The magazine will appeal to a range of people. Trashy magazine readers will be enticed by the content and cultural magazine readers will be enticed by the aesthetic of the publication.
